Itinerary

9 Days / 8 Nights

A Thrilling Journey through Lush Forests and Alpine Meadows with Breathtaking views of Mount Jomolhari, Ancient Dzongs, Yak Herder Camps, and Remote Villages.

  • Flora & Fauna: This trek traverses varied ecosystems, from subalpine forests of juniper and rhododendron to alpine meadows where you might encounter blue sheep, Himalayan monal, or elusive snow leopards. Wildflowers, including edelweiss and blue poppies, bloom along the trail during the summer.

  • Cultural Highlights: Ancient Dzongs, yak herder camps, and Bhutanese settlements offer insights into the local way of life, blending Bhutan’s spiritual and cultural heritage with the natural splendour of the Himalayas.

  • This trek is an unforgettable journey into the heart of Bhutan, offering a perfect mix of adventure and cultural exploration.

  • Welcome to Bhutan! Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our team. After checking in to your hotel, take some time to relax and settle in. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the charming Paro town.

    • Explore its quaint cafes, browse local handicraft shops, and soak in the vibrant Bhutanese culture. This is the perfect start to your Bhutanese adventure, offering a glimpse into the country's rich heritage and warm hospitality

    • Return to your hotel for a restful night, preparing for the exciting days ahead

  • The adventure begins on a wooded trail adorned with vibrant rhododendrons and towering pine trees.

    • Following the Pachhu River, trekkers are treated to the soothing sounds of rushing water and glimpses of snow-capped peaks.

    • Overnight camping at Thangthangkha provides the first taste of Bhutan’s tranquil wilderness.

  • This segment of the trek climbs steadily, opening up panoramic views of Bhutan’s crown jewel, Mt. Jomolhari (7,314m). The base camp at Jangothang is surrounded by majestic peaks and serene landscapes, offering a perfect retreat.

  • This day is dedicated to acclimatization and exploration. Trekkers can hike to glacial lakes or nearby ridges for awe-inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, making it a day of relaxation and discovery.

  • The trail ascends through high-altitude meadows and crosses breathtaking passes, with grazing yaks adding to the charm. A descent into Yaksa reveals a serene valley ideal for an overnight stay.

  • Trekkers cross the Bonte La Pass (4,890m), one of the trek’s highest points, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan range. The path leads through lush alpine meadows to Thombushong, a peaceful campsite surrounded by nature.

  • The final leg descends gently through pristine forests and open landscapes, gradually reuniting trekkers with the bustling world below. The trek ends at Gunitsawa, marking the conclusion of this remarkable journey.

    • After early morning breakfast transfer to Paro:
      Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)
       

    • Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you embark on a hike to Bhutan’s most iconic site, Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. Perched high on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley, this sacred site is not only a breathtaking architectural marvel but also a place of deep spiritual significance. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew to this very spot on the back of a tigress, bringing Buddhism to Bhutan. The journey up offers stunning views of the surrounding valley, making every step toward this ancient monastery a rewarding experience. The climb may be challenging, but the serene atmosphere and unparalleled views at the top will leave you feeling accomplished and awe-inspired.

    • Note: If you choose a horse ride for the ascent, it will only cover up to the viewpoint. The rest of the hike (30–45 minutes) and the descent will need to be done on foot
       

    • Optional activities include a Hot Stone Bath at a Traditional Farmhouse or exploring Paro Town for Souvenirs

    • Overnight stay at a Resort/Hotel in Paro

  • After breakfast, transfer to Paro airport for your onward journey, leaving with cherished memories of Bhutan

    • Accommodation: Stay in Min. 3-star certified hotels or as per selected package category, double rooms on a twin-sharing basis only

    • Meals: Includes all three meals daily

    • 1 Traditional Hot-Stone bath at Paro

    • Transportation: Comfortable SUV / Hi-Ace/ Hi-Roof / Coaster or as per Group size with a reliable driver for all transfers and sightseeing
